Last year, I had the privilege of being part of the rebranding journey led by Tangible Brand Consultants, for the merger of YAMADA Consulting Group (YCG) and Spire Research and Consulting, now known as YAMADA Consulting and Spire (Y&S).
In 2024, I'm thrilled to share that YAMADA Consulting Group Co., Ltd. (YCG) has merged fully with Spire Research and Consulting, forming YAMADA Consulting & Spire (Y&S). With their combined strengths, Y&S is now positioned as a leading consulting and market research firm in Japan, offering an expanded array of high-quality services and a heightened focus on cross-border Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) opportunities.

This merger called for a comprehensive rebranding effort, which involved revisiting the brand's architecture, defining a new brand mission, vision, and values, and reevaluating the brand's personality and tone of voice.
With a brand new positioning "Crafing bespoke solutions that unlocks growth opportunities", it further emboldens the fact that Y&S is a number 1 consulting firm in the APAC region, and continues to be a formidable force in the Research, Advisory, Strategy and Consulting arena.
We then articulated the brand values in a direct and charismatic manner that is easy and digestible to further enforce their capabilities, in the charming, sophisticated and polished brand personality.

As part of the merger, we decided to refresh our logo branding and came up with two new brand logos. The first logo honours the parent company by keeping its symbol but updating it with a modern hand-drawn typeface that reflects its' new capabilities in the consulting industry. The alternative logo is a condensed symbol with it's logo and the abbreviations Y&S - meant for external facing materials that can not fit the main logo.
Crafted the brand identity for the Y&S brand, together with the Visual and Verbal language that encapsulates the brand’s personality and core value.
I helped to rearrange the mergers' information architecture and articulated the brand architecture through the website. We also tried to make it as clean as possible for users to quickly move from one item to the next. Redesigning the merger's website was a privilege, and it's amazing to see it come to life.
